Install the extension, open any chapter on bato.to, and press T. Speech bubbles get detected by the bundled ONNX YOLO model, the original Japanese / Korean / Chinese text is read by GPT-5.4-mini vision, and translations render directly inside each bubble in a manga font (Komika Hand by default). Original art stays underneath — hover any bubble to flash the source language back.

Choice of long-strip or paginated reader, set per series or globally. Defaults to image-zoom-on-click. Image URLs are served via Cloudflare with rolling cache keys.

Quirks & what to watch for

• Bato wraps each image in a <p> tag with custom inline styles; MTZ's content script targets img elements so the wrappers don't matter
• Some Bato uploads use scanlator-supplied raw scans where the original Japanese is already covered by English text — MTZ will detect those English bubbles and try to re-translate them. Filter your chapter list to language=Japanese to avoid this.
